It is true that we are used toextravagance and theatrical charisma villains of Disney. Yet this illustrator has just exposed them under a whole new day, revealing the wicked as young girls all cute! And the best in this series of drawings is that this long-time Disney fan has managed to transcribe the personalitiesalready well defined, of these ugly cults.
The young illustrator of 26 years explains: "I have always loved drawing since I was little. I studied 2D animation at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands. Today, I work as an animator for a series of Amazon Prime. "
And it is his studies that are partially responsible for this adorable series of drawings. Indeed, Vivianne Dubois had this idea of project when she was in first year of art school. She had just learned how to draw on digital tablet and at the time, produced almost nothing but fan art.
I thought it would be interesting to see how the wicked could have worked and what they would have looked like when they were small, while trying to keep their personality traits. That, and then, I like to draw cute stuff!
So she started with her favorite, Ursula of The Little Mermaid, and then continued the list of wicked iconic. She would have liked to do all the bad guys but, after getting tired of the project, she decided to move on. Vivianne grew up with Disney and even happens to be one of the main reasons for her career choice. On his Tumblr, one can even appreciate the evolution of his level of drawing and look at his other illustrations.
